Did you know our installation is in the old processing factory in Bavegem? After being acquired by an interior architect agency specializing in pharmacy design, they transformed a significant portion of the factory, giving it an industrial edge.
The offices and meeting rooms on the top floor, just beneath the roof, used to face a unique challenge. When it rained, conversations became a bit tricky due to the noise from the rain on the steel plate roof. Instead of changing the roof, we found a more cost-effective solution: solar panels!
Not only did we solve the noise issue, but we also harnessed solar power to generate electricity.
To ensure the grid isn't overwhelmed, we've limited the output to 54KVA using the Solis export power manager (EPM). This way, we balance sustainable energy generation and consumption while selling the excess back to the grid.
This installation is a testament to sustainability, and we're excited to share that it will achieve a return on investment (ROI) in just five years!
Some technical data:
- With 264 installed panels of 375W each, we've harnessed 99,000W of clean, renewable energy.
- To manage this impressive power generation, we've installed 2x 40 kW inverters ensuring efficient conversion of solar energy.
- And to connect this green energy to the grid, while maintaining control, we have a cut-off/decoupling net board with a wattage limitation of 55 kW, complemented by the Solis export manager.
- We have also installed 2x 22 kW car chargers equipped with RFID badges, ensuring convenient and eco-friendly transportation options for the employees.
